Worldviews

A "worldview" is a mental picture about the world and universe around us by which a person understands life.  Every person has a worldview and each one is built upon foundational assumptions about the nature of reality, history, life, values, etc. from which we interpret the experiences and issues of life.

When people argue, they are usually demonstrating a conflict in their "conclusions" about the meaning of life which arise from conflicting foundational assumptions in their respective worldviews.  Harmony between people is, largely, rooted in their arriving at harmonious foundational assumptions in their worldviews.  Until we look past our conflicting conclusions and deal with our foundational assumptions, the conflict will continue.
